Gujarat pays 4% a year of the interest on short-term crop loans of up to ₹3 lakh for farmers who repay on time — on top of the Centre’s 3%, which brings the 7% crop loan to zero interest.

What the document says, word for word

The ₹3 lakh limit is for the year in all: if you also have up to ₹2 lakh for animal husbandry or fisheries, only the remaining crop loan up to ₹3 lakh in all counts (condition (અ)(10)). The state relief is separate from the Centre’s 3% prompt-repayment incentive; the GR names banks running the Centre’s or NABARD’s 7%-or-less scheme, so the two apply together.

“(૩) આ યોજનાની શરત નં.-૨ માં દર્શાવેલ બેંકો/સંસ્થાઓ દ્વારા પાક ધિરાણ મેળવતા તથા નાબાર્ડની PROMPT-PAYING SCHEME અંતર્ગત સમયસર પરત ભરપાઈ કરતા ખેડૂતોને તેઓના પાક ધિરાણ પર રૂ.૩.૦૦ લાખ સુધીના ધિરાણ માટે ૪% ના દરે વ્યાજ રાહતની રકમ રાજ્ય સરકાર દ્વારા પુરી પાડવામાં આવશે.”

    How to apply

    1. Take a short-term crop loan from a bank that lends under the Centre’s or NABARD’s 7%-or-less crop-loan scheme: a co-operative bank, primary agricultural credit society, nationalised, private or regional rural bank (condition (અ)(2)).
    2. Repay on time under NABARD’s prompt-paying rules (condition (અ)(3)).
    3. You do not apply yourself: the bank charges you interest minus 4%, or, if you paid in full, credits the 4% back to your loan account and tells you (condition (અ)(7)).

    Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.

    When to apply

    This GR covers the year 2026-27 only (general condition (2)).
