What it pays
40% of the cost of an export pack-house, reefer transport, banana cable system or processing line (75% for the North-East, Himalayan states, island UTs, SC/ST and women), up to ₹2 crore.
What the document says, word for word
At most ₹2 crore per beneficiary per location and ₹5 crore per beneficiary over 2021-26 (1, Note). Technical civil work can be at most 25% of the assistance (General Condition 14). SC/ST means at least 51% SC/ST shareholding; a women’s firm or FPO needs all partners/directors to be women (General Conditions 4, 5). APEDA deducts a 5% + GST processing fee. “Land locked states” also get 75% but are not listed, and we treat J&K and Ladakh as Himalayan — check with APEDA.

Papers you need
- Detailed proposal with process flow, supported by equipment quotations and bills of quantity (Procedure i)
- Quotations from at least three equipment makers or their dealers (General Condition 10)
- Land in your name, or a lease with at least 15 years left (1(a)(ii))
- FSSAI registration or licence (General Condition 29)
- Declaration that no assistance was taken from another state or central agency (General Condition 31)
How to apply
- Register with APEDA as an exporter (RCMC) (General Condition 8, 23).
- Apply online through “Submit FAS Application” on apeda.gov.in before spending — costs before the online application are not counted (Procedure ii; General Condition 2).
- Send the printout and documents to APEDA within 30 days, and wait for In-Principle Approval (Procedure iii; General Condition 17).
- Build the facility, then claim; the grant is paid after physical verification (General Condition 24).

When to apply
APEDA invites applications by notice. The last notice (applications by 15 December 2024) was only for focus products from the North-East, J&K and Uttarakhand.
Combining with other schemes
The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
