What the document says, word for word
Only farmers who also keep cattle, buffaloes or bullocks qualify, and only individual farmers may apply (cl. 1, 6.D). Each pit must be brick, 10′×3′×2.5′ (75 cu ft), walls at least 5″, with a brick floor and a rain-proof roof — plastic alone is not accepted (cl. 2). You must keep producing for 5 years (cl. 4), and anyone helped in earlier years is not eligible (cl. 6.B).

The table prints ₹22,500 per unit, but ₹1,500 of it is turn-key money paid separately to the NGO or company that installs the plant, after you sign a satisfaction certificate (Schedule-09) — not to you (cl. XII(छ), PDF p.42). You must farm and keep cattle; one plant per family (cl. II). Anyone who got a biogas plant before under any scheme (organic farming promotion, KVIC, MNRE…) is not eligible (cl. VIII). You must run it for 5 years (cl. VII).

How to apply
- Register on the Agriculture Department portal dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in (13-digit registration number) and apply online under “अनुदान के लिए आवेदन”, choosing “पक्का वर्मी कम्पोस्ट अनुदान” or “गोबर/बायोगैस इकाई अनुदान” — yourself, or at a Common Service Centre/Vasudha Kendra (vermicompost cl. 6.A, 6.E, 6.F; biogas cl. IX).
- Upload the signed affidavit (Schedule-01) that you will keep producing for 5 years. The Krishi Samanvayak checks the site within 7 days, and the District Agriculture Officer issues the approval letter within 5 days (vermicompost cl. 4, 8).
- Build the unit as specified (brick pit 10′×3′×2.5′ with a rain-proof roof; biogas: Deenbandhu or pre-fabricated 2 m³ model on at least 10′×12′ of your own land) and put up the sign board.
- After verification of the finished unit the subsidy is paid to your bank account; the 2026-27 biogas claims must be paid by the second week of March 2027.
