Store your harvest in a WDRA-registered warehouse and take a bank loan against its electronic warehouse receipt: the government guarantees 85% of loans up to ₹3 lakh and 80% up to ₹75 lakh for small, marginal, women, SC, ST and disabled farmers (75% for other farmers), for a guarantee fee of 0.4% a year.

For a small, marginal, woman, SC, ST or disabled farmer, the bank’s warehouse-receipt loan is guaranteed 85% up to ₹3 lakh and 80% from ₹3 lakh to ₹75 lakh, so the bank lends more readily; the fee is 0.4% a year.

The cover applies to loans up to ₹75 lakh for agricultural purposes (Coverage). Small and marginal farmers already keep the KCC interest benefit for up to six months on such a loan (see the KCC interest subvention record). The launch note does not say whether the 0.4% fee is paid by you or the bank.

How to apply
- Deposit your produce in a warehouse registered with WDRA and get an electronic negotiable warehouse receipt (e-NWR).
- Pledge the e-NWR for a loan at any scheduled bank or cooperative bank; the bank takes the guarantee cover under CGS-NPF (Eligible Institutions).
- The guarantee fee is 0.4% a year for farmers; ask the bank how it is charged.
