Below 1,000 m² (0.1 ha) nothing is paid. Farmers are selected by the Zonal Agriculture Officer and must follow the department’s instructions and let other farmers visit (cl. 4). No upper area limit is printed.
“Incentives to SRI farmers:— An amount of Rs. 20,000/- per hectare will be provided on pro rata basis to the farmers adopting SRI in a minimum area of 1000 m2 area to compensate towards the additional labour required for row planting and conoweeder operation etc.”A demonstration plot of a new variety with inputs and labour support worth ₹7,000 (paddy), ₹4,500 (pulses) or ₹5,500 (oilseeds) per 1,000 m², up to 2,000 m².

How to apply
- Tell your Zonal Agriculture Officer you want to take up SRI or a demonstration plot — the ZAO identifies and selects farmers (cl. 5(C)(i), 5(D)(i)).
- The ZAO inspects your field after transplanting and sends the claim to the District Agriculture Office for sanction (cl. 5(C)(ii)–(iii)).
- Transplanter owners: apply to the ZAO with documents, get approval before buying, then submit the original invoices (cl. 5(B)(i)–(iii)).
Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.

Combining with other schemes
