Last seen in use in March 2023, when the Directorate notified Aadhaar for this scheme (Gazette S-I No. 50, 16-03-2023, pp. 1676–1677). No 2025-26 or 2026-27 order or budget line was found, so check with the Directorate before you buy. Once every 5 years and only one motor per canoe; the canoe must be registered with the Captain of Ports or the Directorate, you need a river gill-net registration and licence, and may not sell or lease the motor for 5 years (cl. 3(a)–(f), 4(a)).

“a. The beneficiary belonging to General Category is eligible for the grant of 50% subsidy limited to Rs. 30,000/- on a unit cost of Rs. 60,000/- (excluding GST). b. The beneficiary belonging to SC/ST/Woman Category is eligible for the grant of 60% subsidy limited to Rs. 36,000/- on a unit cost of Rs. 60,000/- (excluding GST).”

How to apply

  1. Get the form from the fisheries official at the BDO office or a Directorate of Fisheries sub-office (₹50) and submit it there with the dealer’s bill (cl. 3).
  2. After checking, the subsidy is paid to your bank account by ECS (cl. 4).
