Owners of sea-going trawler, dolnetter and gillnetter IBM boats get 50% of the cost of new fishing nets or hook & line, up to ₹4,00,000 (50% of a ₹8,00,000 unit cost), once every two years.

What the document says, word for word

Only for trawl-net, dol-net and gill-net IBM boat owners fishing at sea (condition 4), resident in Gujarat (condition 16). A trawl net must carry a Turtle Excluder Device (condition 12). Again only after two years (condition 6).

“આ યોજના તળે યુનિટ કોસ્ટ રૂ. ૮.૦૦ લાખ લાખના ૫૦% એટલે કે રુ. ૪.૦૦ લાખ મહત્તમ સહાય અથવા ખરેખર થયેલ ખર્ચના ૫૦% બન્ને માંથી જે ઓછુ હોય તે સહાય મળવાપાત્ર થશે.”

Papers you need

  • Boat registration on ReAL Craft and a valid fishing licence (conditions 2, 3)
  • GST bill showing net size, weight and mesh size (conditions 8, 14)
  • Undertaking to dispose of the old net scientifically (condition 13)

How to apply

  1. Apply on the i-Khedut portal; the whole process, up to payment, runs there (condition 1).
  2. Get in-principle approval from the district officer before buying the net (condition 5).
  3. Buy in the open market and give the GST bill (with net size, weight and mesh size) to the district officer, who inspects it (conditions 8, 9, 14).
  4. The help is credited to your bank account by DBT (condition 11).
