A farmer who brings produce to a state Agricultural Wholesale Market or District Procurement Centre for auction gets a transport subsidy of ₹1.50 a kg (up to 25 km), ₹2.00 a kg (26–50 km) or ₹2.50 a kg (above 50 km).

“To encourage and support farmers in bringing their produce to Agricultural Wholesale Markets and District Procurement Centres (DPCs) for auction, transport subsidy shall be provided based on the distance between the farmer’s field and the auction centre, at the following rates: Distance | Transport Subsidy — Up to 25 km ₹1.50 per kg; 26–50 km ₹2.00 per kg; Above 50 km ₹2.50 per kg”

    How to apply

    1. Bring your produce to an Agricultural Wholesale Market or District Procurement Centre on its auction day (item 3(a)).
    2. The subsidy depends on the distance from your field to the auction centre; ask the market secretary how it is recorded and paid (item 3(b)).

    Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.
