A goat or sheep unit of 30 females and 2 males with a 450 sq ft shed costing ₹2,30,000: women’s SHGs, women, SC and ST farmers get 60% (₹1.38 lakh), general men 50% (₹1.15 lakh).

Unit cost (p.5): shed 450 sq ft at ₹120 = ₹54,000; 30 females at ₹5,000 + 2 males at ₹6,000 = ₹1,62,000; insurance ₹11,340; misc ₹2,660. Not for anyone who already got a similar central or state subsidy (Modalities 15). The separate 10+1 unit is on `or-pssy-small-scale-goat-sheep`.

“The WSHGs, Individual Female, SC, ST farmers will be provided a maximum of 60% subsidy of the unit cost i.e. Rs 1.38 Lakh per unit and Individual male general farmers will be provided a maximum of 50% subsidy of the unit cost i.e. Rs 1.15 Lakh per unit .”

Papers you need

  • Aadhaar and bank details; for a WSHG, the meeting resolution recording the land it will use
  • Online payment receipts for every item of ₹20,000 or more

How to apply

  1. Individuals apply on the GO-SUGAM portal; the Programme Assistant can help upload it. WSHGs are selected under the joint F&ARD–Mission Shakti letter 11264 of 08.09.2021 (Selection 1, 4).
  2. The Block Level Inspection Team checks the site; the District Level Committee approves and the CDVO issues a go-ahead (Selection 2–6).
  3. Start the shed within 60 days — a shed is compulsory — then buy 30 does/ewes and 2 bucks/rams and insure them for a year (Modalities 5–13).
  4. The subsidy comes by DBT: 40% after the shed, 60% after full stocking (Modalities 2).
