Uttarakhand State Millets Policy — sowing and procurement incentives
Funded in the budget: Uttarakhand Budget Speech 2026-27 (Volume 1) (9 Mar 2026, Para 36 — “मिलेट मिशन” के माध्यम से पोषण सुरक्षा और किसानों की आय दोनों में सुधार सुनिश्चित किया जा रहा है)
For farmers sowing mandua, jhangora, ramdana, kauni or cheena in selected hill blocks: ₹8,500 a hectare over three years for line sowing (₹4,250 for other methods), paid by DBT, plus ₹300 a quintal to groups that bring millets for procurement.

Papers you need
- Name, father’s or husband’s name, mobile number, area under the crop (acres), bank name, account number and IFSC, likely sowing date — the details the group list asks for (para 4.1, step 2)
How to apply
- Register online on the agriculture department’s portal, alone or as a group, on the form in Annexure IV (para 4.1, step 1).
- Apply between 1 January and 15 April each year (para 4.1, step 2).
- A joint inspection team checks the sowing within 15 days of germination and recommends the incentive (steps 3–5).
- The money reaches your bank account by DBT within 15 days of approval, subject to budget (step 6).
Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.

Applications every year from 1 January to 15 April (para 4.1).
Combining with other schemes
The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
