Cost is counted at ₹1,00,000 a cow (Gangatiri ₹70,000) (para 4(v)); any cost above the estimate is the keeper’s (para 5(ii)). Earlier Kamdhenu / Mini / Micro Kamdhenu beneficiaries are not eligible (para 8(i)(छ)). The GO launched it in 10 divisional HQ districts in 2023-24; the department website now says 18 divisional HQ districts.

“कुल अनुदान परियोजना लागत का 50 प्रतिशत देय होगा: (क) रु. 31,25,000 (साहीवाल अथवा गिर अथवा थारपारकर नस्ल के 25 गोवंश) इकाई के लिए। (ख) रु. 30,50,000 (साहीवाल अथवा गिर अथवा थारपारकर नस्ल के 20 गोवंश के साथ-साथ 5 गंगातीरी नस्ल की गायों हेतु)।”

  • Chief Veterinary Officer’s certificate of 3 years’ experience (para 8(i))

How to apply

  1. Apply online or offline to the Chief Veterinary Officer, Chief Development Officer or Deputy Dairy Development Officer of your district (para 7(v)).
  2. You need 3 years’ cattle or buffalo rearing experience, about 0.5 acre for the unit and about 1.5 acres for fodder (owned or leased 7 years) (para 8(i)).
  3. Grant stages: 25% after the shed and infrastructure, 12.5% after buying 25 cows, 12.5% after 10 calves are born in the unit (para 5(iii)).
