- If you pay from your own money (no bank loan): proof that you have the full project amount (guideline conditions, p.5).
- Cattle purchase report (claim-bill annexures, p.18).
- Receipt from the cattle supplier or market (claim-bill annexures, p.18).
- Health certificate of the cattle from a veterinary doctor (claim-bill annexures, p.18).
- Cattle insurance receipt showing the ear-tag number (claim-bill annexures, p.18).
- Colour photo of you with the cattle and the unit you set up (claim-bill annexures, p.18).
- Bill for building the cattle shed and a photo of the shed (affidavit, p.24).
- Copy of your bank passbook (affidavit, p.24).
How to apply
- Apply online on the Directorate of Dairy Development website, dairy.bihar.gov.in (cl. 6).
- A district screening committee under the lead bank manager interviews you and sends the loan application to the bank (cl. 7–8); for 15/20-cow units the District Dairy Development Officer also inspects the site (cl. 9).
- Buy the animals before the purchase committee and ear-tag them; the subsidy is released (back-ended) after the asset is created (cl. 11, 13, 16).
Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.
When to apply
The latest published booklet is for 2025-26; no 2026-27 notice was found on dairy.bihar.gov.in on 7 Oct 2026.
Combining with other schemes
The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
