The boat may be used only for fishing work, not for ferrying or pleasure trips, and must carry the words “મત્સ્યોધોગ ખાતાની સહાયથી” and the year of purchase (conditions 7, 10). Again after 3 years (condition 14).

How to apply
- Apply on the i-Khedut portal and get in-principle approval from the district officer before buying (condition 12).
- Buy the boat and give pucca GST bills; take geo-tagged photos after purchase (conditions 6, 15).
- Register the boat and get a fishing licence under the Gujarat Fisheries Act 2003 (condition 8).
- After the district officer’s physical check, the head of department approves and the help is paid by DBT (conditions 12, 13).
