Traditional fishers whose registered OBM boat is 5 years old or more (or was fully destroyed in a disaster since 2020-21) get 50% of the cost of building a new boat, up to ₹2,50,000.

What the document says, word for word

Only for registered OBM boats 5 years old or more (condition 6), except boats fully destroyed in a disaster from 2020-21 (conditions 13, 16). Help covers boat building only, not the engine (condition 2). The new boat may not be sold for 5 years (condition 10). Those who got Tauktae-package help for the same boat are excluded (condition 16). Gujarat residents only (condition 20).

“સદર પ્રોજેક્ટની યુનિટ કોસ્ટ રૂ. ૫.૦૦ લાખના ૫૦% એટલે કે રુ. ૨.૫૦ લાખ મહત્તમ સહાય અથવા ખરેખર થયેલ ખર્ચના ૫૦% બન્ને માંથી જે ઓછું હોય તે સહાય મળવાપાત્ર થશે.”

Papers you need

  • Original GST bills and supporting papers for the new boat (conditions 2, 19)
  • For a boat lost at sea in a disaster: police FIR; for one destroyed on shore: the district officer’s panchnama (conditions 14, 15)
  • Certificate from the district officer that no fisheries dues are pending (condition 19)

How to apply

  1. Apply on the i-Khedut portal; the whole process runs there (condition 1).
  2. Have the new boat built at a government-approved registered boat-building yard (condition 2).
  3. The old boat is broken up in front of a fisheries officer and its registration and licence are cancelled; register the new boat on ReAL Craft (conditions 7–9).
  4. Submit the original GST bills at the district office; approval rests with the head of department (conditions 2, 11, 19).
