How to apply
- Register your crop on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal (cl. 2, 10(a)).
- Opt for the scheme on the MBBY portal yourself, or through a CSC / e-Disha centre, the HSAMB, Agriculture or Horticulture department portals, or the mobile app, during the registration window for your crop (cl. 10(a)–(b), 10(f), 10(h)).
- Pay your share (2.5% of the sum assured); you get a registration number by SMS (cl. 8, 10(c)).
- If a covered peril strikes, report the claim; loss is assessed field by field and compensation is paid by NEFT to the bank account given at registration (cl. 12(a), 13(v)–(vi)).

When to apply
Registration stays open during the benchmark sowing period the department notifies for each crop; it is suspended while a peril is striking (cl. 10(f), 11).
Combining with other schemes
The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
