What the document says, word for word

Only for a landless family — no farm land of any kind anywhere in Maharashtra — and one member (man or woman) per family (cl. 4(ii)); the family pays the remaining 25% (6(3)). About 1 guntha (1,000 sq ft) is enough for a 20 + 1 flock’s shed and fenced yard (6(4)–(5)). Only for families of the Nomadic Tribes (NT-C) category — Dhangar and similar communities as notified by the state — in all districts except Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. Funds come from the VJNT / OBC welfare department; the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Maharashtra Sheep & Goat Development Corporation or the District Deputy Commissioner (Animal Husbandry) runs it.

“या योजनेंतर्गत भूमीहीन मेंढपाळ कुटुंबासाठी अर्ध बंदिस्त, बंदिस्त मेंढीपालन करण्याकरीता किमान १ गुंठा जागा खरेदी करण्यासाठी, जागेच्या किंमतीच्या ७५ टक्के अथवा किमान ३० वर्षासाठी भाडेकरारावर जागा घेण्यासाठी भाड्यापोटी द्यावयाच्या रकमेच्या ७५ टक्के रक्कम एकवेळचे एकरकमी अर्थसहाय्य म्हणून कमाल रु. ५००००/- मर्यादेत अनुदान देण्यात यावे.”

How to apply

  1. Apply to the District Deputy Commissioner (Animal Husbandry) when the corporation invites applications (cl. 7(1)).
  2. A district committee chaired by the Additional Collector selects beneficiaries (GR 24.12.2025, para 5).
  3. Once selected, give the land details to the Livestock Development Officer (Extension) for site verification and deposit your 25% share in the bank (cl. 7(2)–(3)).
  4. The corporation pays the 75% by DBT; register the sale deed or lease and give a true copy to the corporation (cl. 7(3)–(4)).
