What the document says, word for word

The family must own at least 20 sheep and 1 ram (cl. 4(2)); at most 2,000 beneficiaries per district (cl. 4(4)). This GR replaced the 16.09.2019 pilot in 9 districts and extended it to 34 districts (cl. 4). Only for families of the Nomadic Tribes (NT-C) category — Dhangar and similar communities as notified by the state — in all districts except Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban. Funds come from the VJNT / OBC welfare department; the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Maharashtra Sheep & Goat Development Corporation or the District Deputy Commissioner (Animal Husbandry) runs it.

    How to apply

    1. Apply to the District Deputy Commissioner (Animal Husbandry) of your district when the corporation announces the scheme (cl. 7(1)–(2)).
    2. A district committee chaired by the District Deputy Commissioner scrutinises the forms and sends them through the corporation and the department to the VJNT / OBC welfare department, which selects the beneficiaries (cl. 7(3)–(6), 8).
    3. The corporation pays the subsidy straight into your bank account by DBT (cl. 7(8)).

    For the grazing months June to September; applications when the corporation invites them.

    Combining with other schemes

    The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
