Only in the 7,201 PoCRA phase-2 project villages of 21 districts (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Jalna, Parbhani, Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Hingoli, Amravati, Akola, Washim, Yavatmal, Buldhana, Wardha, Jalgaon, Nashik). The buyer pays purchase, insurance and transport first (सर्वसाधारण सूचना 5); does must be in their 2nd–3rd lactation and the buck at least 1 year old. One person per family; not for anyone who already got goats under another government scheme (निकष 2–3). The project’s letter of 16 Feb 2026 says applications from people who are themselves landless are to be returned without pre-sanction until instructions on “landless family” eligibility are issued — check with the taluka agriculture office before applying.

How to apply
- Register on the PoCRA DBT portal and upload the application with your documents (लाभार्थी 1).
- The Gram Krishi Vikas Samiti selects needy applicants; the taluka officer gives pre-sanction.
- Within two months of pre-sanction buy 4 does + 1 buck from the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Sheep & Goat Development Corporation in front of the purchase committee, insure them for 3 years and tag them on Bharat Pashudhan (लाभार्थी 2–6; सर्वसाधारण सूचना 2, 6).
- Claim online with the bills, purchase-committee certificate, insurance receipt and veterinary certificate; the subsidy comes to your bank account (लाभार्थी 7).

Apply any time on the PoCRA DBT portal while the project runs (2025-26 to 2030-31); work must be finished and the claim filed within the days set after pre-sanction.
