What it pays
You pay only the fixed farmer share for your pump type; the rest of the pump cost is met by the government and a loan the state repays.
What the document says, word for word
Your share is about 10% of the pump cost as margin money (rules point 5); a part equal to 60% of the cost is met by a farmer loan whose repayment is wholly the state’s responsibility (rules point 6). Condition: the khasra must not have an electric pump now, and no electricity subsidy will be given on it if an electric pump is fitted later (scheme page). Pumps with a universal solar pump controller (USPC) get only the subsidy of the same-size pump without USPC, so their farmer share is higher (rules point 3).

How to apply
- Apply online at cmsolarpump.mp.gov.in: register with your mobile number, do Aadhaar e-KYC, and enter bank, caste and khasra details.
- Choose the pump type; the portal shows your farmer share, which you pay online to MP Urja Vikas Nigam (application point 1).
- After a site check you are informed of selection; then choose the bank shown on the portal and apply for the loan part on the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) portal (application point 3).
- The pump is installed in about 120 days after your full share is received (installation point 4).
Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.
When to apply
No closing date is printed. New applications are currently for farmers with temporary electricity connections from 2023-24 and 2024-25 (rules point 8).
