For traditional fishing communities (Kewat, Mallah, Nishad, Bind, Dhimar, Kashyap and others named in para 1.2) or anyone who has earned a living from fish farming for a year or more, living in UP. Not for those who already got a moped/ice-box type subsidy, e.g. under the Nishadraj boat scheme or PMMSY fish marketing (para 1.1, 1.4). You must keep using it for fish work for at least 5 years or the money is recovered (para 1.5(3)).

The connection must be commercial (LMV5) and only for fisheries, in the name of the lease-holder/fish farmer; pond area 0.2–2.0 ha (for RAS/biofloc/hatchery the project is the unit) (para 2.2).

Papers you need
- For the moped: vehicle purchase receipt, registration certificate, ice-box receipt, copy of driving licence and geo-tagged photographs (para 1.5(2))
- For electricity: the bills and payment receipts of the commercial (LMV5) fisheries connection, in your own or the lease-holder’s name (para 2.1(द), 2.2(2)–(3))
- For interest: a certificate from the bank that the KCC loan was for fisheries, and a certificate of the interest paid, plus an affidavit that you got no other interest relief or loan waiver (para 4.2(2), 4.3(4), 4.4(4))
How to apply
- Apply online on the fisheries department portal (para 1.3(1), 2.3(1), 4.3(1)).
- A district committee chaired by the District Magistrate fixes the order of eligible applicants by a digital lottery (para 1.3(2)).
- Upload the purchase receipts (or the electricity bills and payment receipts, or the bank’s interest certificate); the district fisheries officer verifies them on the spot (para 1.5, 2.1(द), 4.4(4)).
- The help is paid back-ended by DBT to your bank account (for interest, to your KCC account) (para 1.5(2), 2.4(2), 4.4(2)).
