For Dhangar and other NT-C shepherd families, the state pays 75%: a 20 + 1 sheep unit with infrastructure (₹2,49,750 stationary / ₹1,51,875 migratory), improved rams (₹7,500 each), shelter and equipment for existing flocks (₹24,375 to ₹2,37,750) and balanced feed (₹18.75 a kg); plus 50% on a mini silage baler (up to ₹4 lakh) or a feed factory (up to ₹5 lakh).

How to apply
- Apply to the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Sheep & Goat Development Corporation; a district committee chaired by the District Deputy Commissioner (Animal Husbandry) selects beneficiaries (cl. 10).
- Pay your 25% share; since 2024 you first buy the sheep and rams yourself, from the corporation’s farms or a recognised animal market, in front of the purchase committee (GR 05.08.2024, decision 4(i)).
- The District Deputy Commissioner sends the original receipts and photo report; the corporation pays the 75% subsidy by DBT within 7 days (decision 4(ii)–(iii)).
