What the document says, word for word
Medium and large farmers, income-tax payers, government and PSU employees and pensioners, holders of constitutional posts, registered professionals, and more than one member of a family are excluded (“Exclusion parameters”, pp.2–3). The 2024-25 guideline also excludes urban farmers, but the 2026-27 Budget speech (para 25) says the scheme now also reaches urban farmers — check with your block office. This is in addition to PM-KISAN.

How to apply
- Apply online on the CM-KISAN portal — the guideline says no hard-copy application is allowed and the portal stays open all year (“Forms for application”).
- Choose your category: small/marginal farmer or sharecropper, or landless agricultural household (“Eligibility criteria”).
- Your application is checked in the field by the VAW/AO, the Block Agriculture Officer and the CDAO, and approved by the Collector (“Implementation”).
- Complete e-KYC and Aadhaar seeding of your bank account (NPCI) — money is paid by DBT through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (“Fund flow mechanism”).
Applying is free. Never pay anyone to apply for you.
When to apply
No closing date — the portal stays open all year for new applications and grievances; support is paid before each crop season.
Combining with other schemes
The documents do not say whether this can be combined with other schemes. Ask the implementing office before you count on both.
